Measurement challenges for new CEOs

The recent gathering of global specialists in audience measurement provided a valuable opportunity for the two newly-appointed CEOs of both Kantar and Nielsen to outline their current thinking in managing the complexity confronting the industry currently in interviews conducted by Omar Oakes, Editor in Chief of The Media Leader. The interviews opened consecutive days at this year’s asi International Television & Video Conference in Nice and covered a range of topics. How do they regard the importance of industry collaboration and what useful role can be provided by JICs? In an era when there is access to a superabundance of data from a variety of sources, what is the role of panels? Are they any longer relevant?
